Subject: Re: FLASH: right up to edge

Hi all,
just to add my 2p to this thread as this is a subject very dear to my
heart! I have spent many hours recently struggling with this problem.
So far most of the answers have already been provided, although (as
pointed out by John in an earlier post, when the thread was "gap in
ie4.5 on mac") this will not work in IE 4.5 Mac. The only solution is
to remove the <OBJECT> code for the movie, which creates its' own set
of problems.

This latter approach is the one I have taken for my own website (see
earlier posts) and have not received any posts from IE users
indicating a problem. Does this mean that they were using plug-ins
rather than ActiveX controls? Anyone else on the list using this
technique? I would really love some feedback on this as it means I
will have to use a redirect script and duplicate many sections of my
site if this is the case - something I really want to avoid.

BTW, even using a frameset, tables, and nomargin settings, there is an
alignment problem in Netscape which can cause undesirable effects. Liz
Castro (author of HTML4 Visual Quickstart Guide) tells me that this is
a known bug and has no workarounds :(

TIA, Jeff
