Which really is hard for some folks to believe, I think. It fits on one
diskette. But I think most folks now are used to 15-Mb DLs just to get
off the ground with the latest, greatest, loudest.

I don't know whence the code bloat from which Mozilla or IE suffer. HTML
is *not* that hard to parse, not so tricky it requires 5 Mb worth of
support DLLs. I can take care of the commonest tags with about ten lines
of Lingo.

A couple years back Shockwave had nary a complaint when I plugged it
into an Opera folder. But I'd guess, again, that marketing's a factor.
No one has asked for Opera support, which is really a shame. So the
newer versions don't have it.

They are probably using some kind of browser detection. My feeling is
that if your site is so media laden you need browser detection, it
*might* be time to consider a redesign.

Heh heh! Actually that's an example of what I just wrote. nightwares
works with *text only* browsers (I have lynx on my server so that
matters to me) and even supports *frameless* browsers. The only thing
one has to do is select, at the index page, whether one wants the shock
side or the HTML side. After that I just use the stuff that's so basic
to HTML it's hardly worth mentioning.

In other words I don't really care what browser the user is employing;
nightwares' message, its content, should be conveyed regardless.

I will probably eventually simplify the HTML tags associated with the
shocked files too. Any particular suggestions/caveats?
