If the core of the problem is "How can I encode CD-length audio with Flash
on tight hard drives?" then one easier approach is to use Shockwave, which
used Fraunhoffer-style compression long before anyone ever heard of the
term "MP3". It can dynamically relink to varied external assets on demand,
more.

Another approach you might consider would be to find a scriptable MP3
player and control it from FSCommand. I'm not sure whether you're actually
seeking to make a hardcore jukebox player, though.

(Flash's audio compression has been aimed more towards making it easier to
include good audio at small filesizes, than for CD-style presentations...
can be shoehorned into that area, but the compression does take some time,
true.)
