You can place one key command per button (On Key) in addition to a mouse
event such as On(Release) or instead of a mouse event.

If you want a key only event place the button off stage where it will not be
seen.

Flash does not import or export Midi.
You can control Midis from Flash and Beatnik with even more options.
For a simple Midi example see my Christmas 97 animation --->
http://www.FlashCentral.com/Tech/Xmas/
This uses a hidden (almost) frame to control the Midi turning on and off from
the boom box in Flash.

Flash can only import uncompressed versions of .wav (on PC) and .aiff (Mac).
