Re: FLASH: Flash 4

I think everybody is overreacting to the problems we will have with a

Flash 4 release. First I think most changes will involve the authoring

user interface rather than new features. New feauters are likely to be

in the area of 3D and sound support.


Also, i think even if you put some new Flash 4 features in they will

degrade a lot better. For instance if Flash 4 were to have Midi support

users with a Flash 3 plugin would get everything except the Midi which

you could supply in a Flash 3 method for those who have Flash 3 and not

Flash 4.


Remember there is no Flash 4 yet (it's a glimmer in Jon Gay's and the

other Flash engineers' eyes right now), but our concerns about

maintaining degradable performance with Flash 3 without losing Flash 4

features should be sent with all feature requests to the wish list.
