There are also some other solutions.
I use Magix Music Maker (49.90$ http://www.magix.com) which in essence helps
you stich together small pieces of provided wav files (loops). So with no
knowledge but with patience a good taste it is possible create pleasant
music pieces. You can download a demo from their site.
Another solution are the EJey Hip Hop and Rave
