Text gets jaggedy because the HTML code sets quality to autohigh. Change
it (in both object and embed codes) to high.
Most likely reason for the first problem is that MIME is not set on the
server. Can't tell without a URL, but you can get instructions for a very
simple MIME test at
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/mimetype_check.htm
