FLASH: [ANNOUNCE] Flash 4.0a Macintosh Updater

Dear Flash Macintosh Developer,


We have recently released an updater for the Macintosh version of Flash 4.0

authoring to improve memory handling for importing bitmaps, sound and

QuickTime movies and fix a problem relating to the Actions tab in the

Instance Properties dialogue. The observable results of these changes is

more stability (especially in the Actions tab), fewer "out of memory"

situations when working with bitmaps, sound and video, and more successful

recoveries from out of memory conditions.


A Windows updater will not be available as these problems were not

encountered by developers using Flash 4.0 on Windows.


The enhancements to Flash 4.0a Macintosh are thoroughly documented in the

Read Me included with the updater package and in TechNote #14241 in the

Macromedia Flash Support Center.


The Flash 4.0a Macintosh updater is freely available to registered customers

from the Macromedia Flash Support Center at:
