I can tell you about my experiences with frames. Just from the standpoint of
search engines, they do have their problems. I have read up on a lot of
information of how to get around it with the no frames tag so that search
engines will have no problem finding the sites, but I find irregardless,
there can still be problems.
I love using frames from the ease of navigation standpoint, especially on a
large site because I will use a very narrow horizontal main topic frame and
then a vertical sub topic or article frame, but I am starting to believe
that alternate methods could be just as functional with careful planning.
I find myself planning on redoing a lot of sites with tables for navigation
instead of frames and as David said plan on the load movie for my next Flash
revision. From what I can gather, load movie is a powerful addition to
Flash, not only allowing the look of frames, but the ability to be very
creative with the site layout.
