Christian,
I am fairly certain that the problem your boss is having is that he/she
is using the Flash 2 ActiveX to view your Flash 3 .swf movie. Regardless
of the browser (that is, plug-in/ActiveX) in use, the Flash 2 plug-in
can NOT display any graphics in an exported .swf file of the F3 variety.
The F2 plug-in CAN, however, process the sounds that are in a F3 movie,
because that part of the code did not change between versions.
Similarly, the F2 plug-in CAN process SOME frame actions in a F3 file
(the actions that were already in F2 will work, but none of the new F3
actions will work).
I am almost certain that this is the problem, because others on this
list can see the movie with no problem, correct? They presumably have
the F3 plug-in already.
It would be my GUESS that in your html code, you have not indicated
cab#version 3,0,0,0 as the proper version of the ActiveX control at the
end of your <codebase> tag. This is the easiest way to solve this
problem for IE users, because it will automatically prompt them to get
the newest ActiveX when IE hits that tag, even if they already have the
F2 ActiveX installed.
Since your boss is on IE, your quick fix is to change this tag, send
him/her back to the page, and tell him/her to accept the new doanload
when IE prompts it.
Hope that helps!
