I've noticed this artifact, also, when working with bit-maps in the past

and have always attributed it to a deficiency in Flash.

If you look at http://www.rustedfaith.com

When you roll over the center lens for the "NEWS" item you'll notice a

slight distortion of the bit-map on the lower right rim of the circular

lens... and these folks don't look like amateurs to me...
