Actually, I took a two-day intensive Flash course earlier this year at
Macromedia-certified training center, and have found it to be
invaluable.

In comparison to many of my co-workers who are self-taught (or the one
who learned everything she knows by pestering this one guy for weeks
at a time), I have a firmer base of knowledge about what Flash can and
cannot do. And most importantly, I know the importance of optimizing
file size and how do it -- something that almost none of them know how
to do. I am also one of the very few who understands the proper use of
symbols and why turning bitmaps into symbols before motion tweening is
a good thing to do.

Sure I've done additional study outside of the crash course, but this
place was great and I recommend them to anyone who wants to dive right
in to a two-day crash course and come out with a decent, broad but
still a littlle basic knowledge of Flash.
