Subject: FLASH: Communicating between HTML and Flash
From: Thorsten Schmiedel

Hello FellowFlashers,

I have a problem here;

I'd like to turn off the background sound in a flash-file when a specific
new browser-window is launched. the flash file is embedded in one of several
html-files in a frameset... now, the popup-window (in which I have a
quicktime with sound, that's why I'd like to turn off the background-sound
in the flash-file) is launched via an html-link in one of the other
html-files in the frameset. I got it running with an onBlur-command, but
then, the sound stopped also when I clicked into one of the other frames...
So I guess the best way to manage this whole thing is to tell the flash to
stop the loop when the popup-window gets focus..... and now this (after this
hopefully not too confusing intro) is exactly my prob:
Can anyone point me in the right direction how to communicate between an
html-file in one browser-window and a swf in another window?

Danke schn,

Thorsten
