Your question was already answered, but to be safe here...
You will hear a lot about how ActionScript now mirrors JavaScript in syntax.
However, look at it this way - AS is only used internal to the Flash movie,
while the JS is run from (and interpreted by) the browser. Similar syntax,
different parties happening here. :>)
