Unless it's specified in my contract with the client I reserve the right to
keep the source material (fla.). If they want the original file then its an
additional charge to hand it over to them for some other hack to mess with.
It really depends on the client however. Most smaller clients won't usually
ask for fle. If the larger clients do then I don't feel bad about asking for
a fee for the original. Usually larger clients will specify that the source
material is owned by them once the project is completed. It all comes down
to your original agreement and your creativity as a negotiator if that's
important to you.

I do Flash freelance, and at the end of the project the client often asks me
for the .fla files. Is this standard? What do you fellow freelancers do?

I always give them if they ask me for them but this kinda seems like I'm
removing myself from the equation. What do people think?
