Predictions on this list "2 years" and "9-12 Months".
I'll paraphrase the former CEO of Macromedia Bud who said in 1996:
"...revision cycles of 12 - 18 months".
However, to "wait around" for Macromedia to make announcements... might save
you a dollar or two, it's not well advised (in my opinion). Besides, I
believe Macromedia will give you a free upgrade to any products that are
released within 30 days of another purchase--but, mind you, I don't
represent Macromedia.
Finally, if any one says when it comes out, they're speculating. I'd
challenge you to show me one Macromedia representative who even refers to
"Flash 5". They won't call it that, because it's not even confirmed that
that's the version number for the next release. Sounds funny, but that's
the way they do it.
