Well, literally, IE/Mac uses plugins, and you can move these from the
browser's "plugin" folder.

If you're instead trying to uninstall a system-level ActiveX Control for
IE/Win, then searching the technotes with keyword "uninstall" pulls up:
"How to Remove the Flash Player ActiveX Control"
http://www.macromedia.com/go/12727 (shortcut temporarily unavailable)
<http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/control_remove.htm>

If you're actually trying to test some type of detection routine, then it's
usually easier to use one that was already written and tested... there are
tons of these. I'm seeing more and more people that just present the
content with a "can't see it?" link.

If you're actually seeking to do *version* detection, then the new Flash
Deployment Kit and technotes (keyword "detect and version") can help:

You're hearing it from MediaMetrix and IDC! Doublecheck their methodology
documentation or the previous discussions here.

Although the little "gazillions served" icon is not on the current
Macromedia splash page, you can still link into this area directly:

Recap: As of March 2000, two-thirds of consumers worldwide could view Flash
4 content without downloading anything new, and well over 90% could view at
least some Flash content. In that same month the daily download rate
surpassed two million completions per day, each and every day... the Flash
4 percentages should be significantly higher in the current June consumer
audits. It's all very amazing.
