FLASH: site setup logic

Please can someone review the following and tell me if the logic of how I

intend to set up my flash website stands up to reason. I have read a lot of

helpful info over the last couple of months on this list and just want to

check that I put it all together correctly. (Note that when I refer to a

"level" I am talking in terms of a navigation level hierarchy and not the

flash tell target levels.)


I want to redo my portfolio website as a flash movie (with new design etc).

So there will be some kind of "main level" where the choices will be Print

work, Interactive work, Contact Info. These buttons, when selected, will

display more buttons that in turn shows the work/info. There will also be a

button to a "second level". On this second level will be different buttons

and a back button (going back up to the first level).


I have decided to set it up as one long  movie with four scenes. The first

scene would be the preload animation checking that all frames in scene 2

are loaded before proceeding. (I want the first level to load completely

before playing.) Scene 2 would be where all the main level info is on the

one timeline (no popup windows will be used). Scene 3 is the preload for

the second level stuff which is in scene 4 in a single timeline.


I have decided not to use frames for various reasons. Also, decided against

loading separate movies because they all have similar shared symbols that

would mean duplicate download if loaded as separate movies. Also, wanted

all the level one stuff to download before anything played (so there will

be no breaks in the experience - except between level 1 and level 2) and I

believe this can only be done as a single movie.
