Subject: | FLASH: Moving Forward in Flash?!?!? |

People keep referring me to the (in)famous TUTORIALS in Flash.
It would help if the specific section was indicated.
For the record I keep that page open and Alt/Tab to it always - step by step
- when trying to accomplish something.
Alas, take the Basics - Overview for ex. - a few steps into it and it reads:
"Each frame in the Timeline represents a point at which the movie can change"
You click and the tutorial does several incomprehensible things.
If I'm wrong flame the dickens out of me!
It first goes and clicks in the timeline area of Frame1 - which isn't active,
current or what ever Hmmmmm, confusing ............. Then it zips up to
Insert key frame and then over to "10" in the frame (I guess that's what it
is because they never really show or tell you what or where a "FRAME"
actually is)
Now suddenly they leave the "Yellow" layer and the dark thingy just
disappears and we are working on another object/layer that doesn't have the
pencil indicated etc. I have shown this section to several people and it's
equally incomprehensible to them. Inconsistencies flourish throughout the
Tutorials and it's no wonder I get companies who monitor and receive this
list's posting suggesting that I purchase a series of lessons from them. They
say it takes YEARS to learn Flash basics!!! No wonder?
Anyway several kind and patient souls have been very helpful on this list and
after many hours studying and swearing I AM in fact starting to comprehend
what is going on. The moves do not coincide with the TUTORIALS and much is
still unclear (see the Flash ng - I'm NOT alone!!!)
Suggestion: A newsgroup for Flash Newbies!!! the current ng has over 3,000
entries!
Question: in the Help file under HTML/MOVIES is a certain nav.fla
How does one see/break up the components to re-edit it?
Great Thanks, Gerrie
