There are two ways I can think of off hand.

One is to use Flash's timer function. I've never used it, but I'm sure if
you dig into a few sites you will find the necessary information.

The second, and simpler, way is to have an empty timeline that lasts for the
amount of time you need. Say your movie runs at 10 frames per second. 300
frames will be 30 seconds. Better yet, use 10 frames that loop 30 times.
Either way, you place your resume action at the end. Your next button will
need to stop this process as well.

That should do it.
