Actually, no one else has succeeded in producing any better scripts. It's
possible to produce special-case scripts which are smaller, but for a
generalized script, even talented scripters confess they can't beat
Dreamweaver's routines.
If you do happen to make some special-case script you prefer, then you can
easily wrap it in a Dreamweaver wrapper... it's a snap to make your own
behaviors.
But for comparable functionality, I've yet to see anyone beat Dreamweaver's
scripts for tightness, generality, and reliability. S'true.
For Sean's original pair of posts, though, I don't see where he's got any
Flash in there... looks like he's changing a bajillion images through a
rollover. Might be easier to just use a single show/hide layer or
something, depending on the design.
(Note that the "ControlShockwave" behavior 'way down at the bottom seems to
be addressing an unnamed SWF... remember to name your objects when
JavaScript controls it, and that IE/Mac doesn't offer such abilities yet.)
