it sounds as if what you're missing is the loop that forces Flash to keep
checking for Frame Loaded before proceeding to the frame that offers the
user choices about where to go in the timeline.
For example,
Frame 3: If Frame Is Loaded...go to Frame 5 and play
Frame 4: Go to Frame 3
Frame 5 contains the navigation buttons.
Frames 3 & 4 contain a movie clip that keepts folks occupied as long as the
loop continues.
