It would seem that you could use Get Property to set variables from your
draggable clip's x, y values and use Set Property to set the x, y values of
your transparent clip using those same variables.

Laura
I'm going to do some searching for a tute that I can piece together to
create this effect in Flash. If you happen to come across something, I would
be very, very grateful.
Marcus

Of course, any other ideas to this would be great as well.

oh, yeah, that's what I get for trying to look at things real quick at work.
I couldn't really see a difference between what was behind the square and
what was in front of it (actually I was sort of expecting more a "zoom" than
a clarity feature... ever consider doing that instead? that would be easier
in flash too :) As Greg already mentioned you can't drag a mask layer
without workarounds. I think there are some tutorials out there on how to do
that tho. I can run through and try and find them (or emails) later on when
I get home if you haven't already found what you need.
