Yes, ActionScript is similar to Perl. Any basic programming training in

any language will generally help some -- as long as you remain flexible

in how it will pertain to Flash and ActionScript. Remember that the same

basic Loop, If statements and other common operations will generally

work similarly, but will usually require different syntax.
