You can get a direct link between Flash and a database, no need for intermediary
text files. FLasg interact with an ASP script (via gets and posts) and the ASP
script interact with the database. Myabe i misuderstood ? But why do you want to
use intermediary text files if flash can talk to the databse directly via the
ASP script ??

As far as I know there are two ways you can go about this. One, buy
Macromedia Generator and use its dB capabilities to interact with flash.
Two, use ASP/CGI/etc to create the text files dynamially ( based on
responses - get's and post's from within a flash movie ). With the ASP
route you cannot get a direct link between Flash and the dB. You need to
use intermediary text files for the data, but the actual data requests
can be direct to your ASP page using forms within Flash 4.
There are some articles about this at http://www.flashwave.co.uk/
Hope this helps a bit, all I can say is read up about it, its not
immediately obvious.
