Subject: FLASH: Traffic report

Hi Flashers,

I'm currently working on a demo website for the Mexico City transportation
department. The object is to have an updated traffic report for certain
major avenues in the city available via web. The client wants to do it in
Flash.

My question is this: Could you look at the demo, see what kind of info is
generated, and then let me know if Flash Generator will allow me to do
this? I have some doubts as to generating the updated info from a
database... what kind of database would be needed?

The address is:

http://200.33.252.200/stv

It's not a full-working demo, just some areas, so you would need to go to
the northwest sector in the main map, and from there, select the first two
circuits that appear on the "Circuitos" list to see what kind of info we
want to generate. I would assume that the action is a "Load Movie" on
Level #1 (as well as "UnLoad Movie - Level #1 to clear the previous movie),
and Generator would have to see what kind of .swf to load, depending on the
transit weight on that particular avenue.

I don't know if I'm going about this the right way, so any and all guidance
would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the client also wanted the animated banners in the bottom frame to be
in Flash, but I advised that that would be too many streams (5) and frames
(9) and would take too many resources on the user's computer and there was
danger of crashing... so we made the ad banners into gifs and loaded them
all in a single frame.

Thanks again to all who take the time.

Saludos,

Ricardo Madrazo
