Sorry, if that copy was damaged during an unexpected shutdown, then a
disk-recovery utility *might* be able to reconstruct it, but the odds are
stronger that you'll have to go to the most recent backup.
(Hard drives fail too, so it's good to include the daily backup to a
different drive, in addition to the interim archive versions. For
particularly important work you might wish to consider storing regular
backups at a separate location in case of fire or flood, perish the
thought.)
