Hi Hal,
QuickTime played over the internet at full screen (or rather, 640 x 480
resolution as in your example below) is not for the bandwidth challenged or
timid. However, to answer your question, the way to play QuickTime at a
specific size is to compress it or save it at the target size or to save it
at half size and then pixel double it. The best way to do this is with
Media Cleaner Pro which lets you set the size of the compressed file and
it's playback size. Pixel Doubling sometimes helps keep file size down but
may introduce some blotchy text or images (you are stretching existing pixel
information). To do this with QuickTime player, open the movie, choose
"Double Size" (or whatever sizing you want) and then save the movie as a new
name making sure to choose the "Self Contained" option.
Be forewarned, some codecs don't play back well when pixel doubled.
Good luck,
..Kevin

Sorry for the OT question, but I can't find documentation on the Apple site
or anywhere else. I'd appreciate it if there's a Quicktime expert who can
help me with this.
My question regards the kind of fullscreen effect you see here (works on
Mac, QT 4.1.1, not sure if this works in Windows), where Quicktime takes
over the window:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/what_women_want/full.html
Do you have to control the QT API through Java to get this effect, or can a
Director track in the QT movie trigger this sort of event? Are the button
controls inside the Projector (Exit, Start Over) Director objects, or are
they custom-made with QT Java? I'm not a Java developer (though I'm
perfectly willing to launch Code Warrior and roll up my sleeves, if that's
what it takes) and would like to know if there are any other ways to do this
other than through a Java development environment.
I promise I'll be a good boy and not pester the group, once I know where to
begin looking.
Many thanks,
Hal
