Hi,
I'm doing a title animation that works like a stack of cards, each title is
stacked under the other so only one title is visible at once.. when a button
is clicked its the top title will slide off the deck revealing the
appropriate title and then sliding under the deck of titles.
so if the title is currently "about us" and you clicked the button
"services", then I would slide "about us" down to reveal "services" switch
the Z order of "about us" and services so that "services" was higher in the
stack and then slide "about is" under the deck. I'm using the new swapdepths
object method to set the Z ordering but and wondering how to keep track of
the order of everything, I know I can use an array and sit down and work it
out (I'm a java programmer) but want to know if there is a tutorial already
out there that I can get some ideas from for the algorithm. The "simple"
version I have now works fine for my first two titles but then goes funny as
the Z ordering is out of synch. If I could get the current Z order of a
clip, I could then set the next clip to appear to "order-1" but I can't see
a method that will tell me the Z order of a movie in a timeline.
Cheers
Grant
