FLASH: Lowest Common Denominator for Flash

hey everyone,


I have a question, and I don't know if I'll be able to explain it well, so

please bear with me....


What I was wondering was about the lowest common denominator for Flash 4

compatibility. And what I mean by that is : : 

so for a swf published by flash 4,

First of all, it will only totally work with the flash 4 plugin (that's my

first question, is that correct?)

and secondly,

what is the lowest browser version that flash will correctly play on? Or is

that question mute.... does flash playing only count on the plug-in, and can

any browser get that installed regardless of the version of browser?


And does this make sense to anyone?

If so, please let me know, or point me in the direction to find the answer.
