Why don't you make the sound shorter you can edit the sound from within Flash

Subject: FLASH: Is there a property of a sound that I can use to see if a sound is currently playing
Hi there
Is there a property I can use to detect if a certain sound is currently
being played?
Basically in my game when the "Pacman" eats a dot i play a sound using the
following code:
eat_pill.start();
Now the length of the sound is longer than the time to take pacman to get
from one dot to another - therefore before the sound has finished playing,
he gets to another dot and the eat_pill.start(); is called again.
Have a look and see!

The result is not very good Now, I don't want to edit the sound to make it
shorter if possible.
The ideal situation would be if I could go: (psuedo code)
////////////////////////////
If (eat.pill.playing<>True){
eat_pill.start();
}
////////////////////////////
Anyone have any suggestions?
Paul
