FLASH: duplicate move from another clip.

Has anyone had any luck duplicating a movie clip from another timeline?  Is 

it possible?  I want to duplicate a MC called "target" that lies in a MC 

called 'holder' from the timeline of a MC called 'duper'.  ON the timeline of 

'duper' I issued the commands:


Duplicate Movie Clip ("/holder/target", "dup", 1)

Set Property ("dup", X Position) = 1

Set Property ("dup", Y Position) = 1

Stop


And nothing happens.
