[uk-netmarketing] Recommendations for online marketing books

Hello Caroline,

Don't Make me Think was a very easy and quick read, but most of the books
out there are not this easy to dip into. The only one that I know about
that covers Internet Marketing in any depth is Dave Chaffeys book Internet
Marketing Strategy, Implementation and Practice but its not quick and
easy, in fact its quite the contrary and is now probably a bit out of date,
unless they have an updated edition, but it was my bible for studying
Digital Marketing (IDM).

Seth Godin's books are all very easy going and entertaining take your
pick!

Other books you should consider reading that cover different aspects of our
business include:

Web Analytics 2.0 (Avinash Kaushick)
The New Rules of Marketing and PR (Excellent, very easy read) - as
recommended by Damien
Rocket Surgery Made Easy Steve Krug (follow up to Don't Make Me Think)
Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely

There are more on my linked in page if you are still stuck for ideas!

Hi Caroline

Try starting with http://www.emarketer.com/ that has a lot to offer for
anyone wanting to know current trends and best practices.

A lot of people will have told you to read anything by Seth Godin
(apparently you should read at least one in your life time)

But I think you'd appreciate anything by David Meerman Scott like his book
The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to Use Social Media, Blogs, News
Releas... by David Meerman Scott

see http://damiens.ws/v8ym09

Cheers

Damien
