[uk-netmarketing] Flexible Email Marketing Solution

Personally I would be adopting Chinwag's approach. There are so many
factors within email that end up out of your control that outsourcing
delivery is the sensible solution. There is nothing worse then trying to
explain why delivery rates have fallen due to your company missing some
change to gmail's or hotmail's rule book.

As such I would compare Mailchimp against icontact and a couple of other
others checking out both their functionality, prices and their apis and
then develop your own custom system around the one you pick. I will add 2
additional thoughts:

1) Develop against your requirements not the API functionality. Things
change and the less dependant you are on one system the easier it will be
to change.
2) Don't look at any one particular system and think that is good as it
gives me (Salesforce, Google Analytics...). Investigate what their offering
means as it may simply be a tickbox covering measure or not work in the way
you want it to.
