Hi Suzy, Rod, Jon, Peter and Peter,

Thank you VERY much for your excellent advice.
This is what I'm doing:

Already own:
RadarMusicVideos.com
RadarMusicVideo.com (our twitter name has no 's')

About to purchase:
RadarMusicVideos.tv
RadarMusicVideos.eu (we're trademarked, but it's not much money for the .eu domain too)
RadarMusicVideos.asia (Australia is included in this domain - thanks for that Wikipedia link - so am asking an Ozzie friend to be an admin office for us)
RadarMusicVideos.co.uk
RadarMusicVideos.info

Many thanks, as ever, excellent advice from all.
I don't think I explained, but we were recommended to buy these domains after an Export Communications Review, which the UKTI helped us to arrange - they also subsidised 50% of the cost. I really recommend UKTI http://www.ukti.gov.uk/uktihome/aboutukti.html I did a one day course with them on exporting which was absolutely packed with gems of information from people who knew what they were talking about. Plus they have some grants. All good.

thanks again

Caroline

Since Duratread is a registered trade mark around the world I went ahead and bought the .Asia and .cn, .in, .biz, .info .uncletomcobblyandall (ha, ha!), and then for good measure, added in domains such as duratreadotrtires.com. (BTW: we have business and contacts in Asia, so it wasn't difficult getting a business partner to register .Asia for us).

We were right to be worried as it seems that Duratread was a name that some of the Chinese manufacturers that were at that time springing up all over Quindao would have dearly liked to get their hands on! I started receiving emails from supposed lawyers and domain companies who were threatening us to surrender our domain name to them. Naturally, we just stood our ground, ignored most of the emails and eventually it ended up going away.

Take a look at this Wikipedia page to understand more about the TLD's.
