If they won't play ball, try Nominet (if it's a UK domain name -

Internic/Network Solutions or appropriate body otherwise) next,

and then your lawyers.


Try mentioning the precedent set by the One In A Million case to

each.


If you're not familiar with the case, then, as I remember it (and

therefore possibly not a very accurate account of events) One In

A Million registered a bunch of domain names that included the

trademarks of Marks and Spencer, Burger King, etc. - and in at

least one case tried to sell a domain name for a large sum of

money. The UK courts demanded they hand the names over - and pay

�60,000 in costs.


I think the fact that they were trademarks helped.


If they're not a UK company and you don't have any luck with them 

or the allocating body, then good luck. I'm not aware of any

precedents set in other countries (though there have been a few

individual cases in the US, but normally based around two companies

with the same name.)


Mind you, if they're only asking for a small sum, this may be your

best bet as it'll definitely be quickest.
