Subject: UKNM: Practical Memetics

Some fellow consultants at OgilvyOne at work are involved in a few 'practical memetics' projects at the moment. We realised some time ago that even the most enligtend advertising theories do not fare well as memes - they are not very resiliant communications. We have been trying to work out how we can upgrade the idea of a 'brand communication' to make it as resialiant as the chain letters that flow around the net.

Some of the things we almost know about include:

* How you can package a meme
* What factors affect pass-on rates
* What factors affect resonse rates.
* How you can start to measure the sucsess of a meme on a network

We are starting to believe there may be a formula to good 'viral' communication.

If you have any interest in this kind of stuff, please contact me by email.
