Get the name of the gatekeeper and incorporate into your message: "Your
colleague John Smith suggested we e-mail you regarding..."

If they're that busy, they should have an assistant you can e-mail instead.

You can never please everyone.

Not spam, as you're only sending it to one person.

However, if you had 100,000 winners all who won, say, a mouse mat and you
were just using it as an excuse to contact them, then it's spam.
