Hi


How do you know if you can trust the traffic reports you get on paid search

engines ? This seems to be a very cost effective (albeit slow, tiresome and

unglamourous) way of generating traffic. I've opened 10 accounts over the

past week ago and the results are, as I would expect, trickling through.

That is with the noticeable exception of www.findwhat.com, which is

providing a raging torrent of traffic - 93 clickthroughs in 4 days at a cost

of �28. Has anybody heard of them ?


Normally I would rejoice at any sign of return on my efforts, but there are

2 distinctly fishy things about the findwhat results. Firstly, 15 of my 27

keywords have been clicked on. The most that any other engine has yielded

yet is about 4. Secondly, and most damning, apparently 7 people have

searched on, and clicked, the keyword 'advertwizard'. Naturally I am proud

of the brand we are building, but this is the booby keyword that I added in

case of emergency rather than expectation.


Now that Inspector Morse has died, Don Beech has fled to Australia and

Hercule Poirot is still Belgian, who can I turn to to help me work out

whether I am being had ?
