i saw it too...might it work well for books out of print or deleted videos.

my feeling was that it was a move into e-bay's territory.

Subject: UKNM: Amazon Marketplace

If anyone has looked at Amazon.com's site of the past two days you will
notice a new forthcoming section, Amazon Marketplace. (To see it look up a
book, CD or DVD and on the product page it asks Already own this item? I
have one to sell).)

>From a brief bit of research, it appears to be (Emma correct me if I'm
wrong) a person to person trading system where people are able to list good
quality second hand items for sale at a fixed price (basically Zshops for
individuals). Half.com already do this and I can see why it is a decent
business model.

However, I can't see how it fits into Amazon. It feels awfully like one step
too far but apart from the obvious example of reducing Amazon's sales for
items 2+ months old I can't work out why I'm so unsure about it.

Any comments or ideas,

Ben
