Subject: | UKNM: Free vs paid for ISPs |

Here's an interesting one that will be familiar to those who have worked in
traditional media. From an advertisers point of view, does an ad impression
bought on an ISP offering free access have less value than an impression
bought on an ISP where access is paid for?
I know it's dredging up the old free vs paid-for newspaper/bulk sale vs full
price publication debate but I'd be interested to know people's views.
My view (for what it's worth) is that there is always a difference in
consumers perceptions between something free and something that has a cost
attached (whether that cost is time or money). The killer here is whether
the difference is so slight it makes no difference.
