UKNM: Prices of ads on search engines

Does anyone have any idea of the cost of placing a 'box link' ad on the top 

of search engine home pages... e.g. the ad for Amazon books on AltaVista.


...and what about ads that pop up on the results pages when relevant key 

words are searched for?


Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated!
