Thanks a lot Steve. The hard copy would be good - I'll email my fax number
across later.

Re: viral marketing - do you - or does anyone else have any opinions of
articles about the effectiveness of the various means of viral employed?
For example, sending around games, "messages from a friend", free prize
draws (the more people you pas the message to, the more entries you get),
etc etc.

In fact, a list of all the viral tools possible would be really helpful
because I'm feeling exceptionally brain dead today...

Tia

On your points:

1. MMXI rank 2-17 sites (a pretty broad definition of teens...) in
order of their demographic focus - i.e. what proportion of the sites'
users (derived from the MMXI panel which is skewed towards home use)
is within the specified age range. Here is a story about the latest
numbers from the Express.

http://www.lineone.net/express/00/08/27/city/m0500-d.html

I have hard copy of the table cited in the story (which wasn't in the
online version). If you want a copy, let me know and I'll fax it to
you.

2. Can't help.

3. On viral growth, we have a very simple case study up and running
at another.com - c.4,000 new registrations per day in the absence of
advertising or marketing activity.

s

PS Declaration - this post conceals a stealth plug for another.com,
which is the number 1 UK-based site in the MMXI table.
