Computers seem to evolve like animals they specialise off to take advantage
of a resource (users/food). It might be better to do a few things very well
than to do a lot badly. If anyone out there ever bought a Media GX computer
then tried any 3D games on it they will know just what I mean. The all in
one computer processor has come out time and time again. It is beaten back
by a new level of software that demands the more dynamic (upto) 16
processors in one computers we use. The modular function approach looks
like a good bet. But that betamax (which was better but much more
expensive) fear hangs over us all.

The world of media distribution whether TV, DTV, Web, PDA or WAP
is converging as different devices increasingly imitate each
other's capabilities. This is the conventional wisdom anyway and
while we may not really fully sign up to 'convergence' (I'm not
really going to watch Eastenders on my WAP screen or take phone
calls over my laptop whilst walking along the street, am I?),
there is certainly a feeling that things are moving closer to each
other, coming together.
