* Freebie Watch: corporategiftcentre.com's Unusual Business
Cards
We happened to be at the Pub and Bar Show at Earl's Court not so long ago
(don't ask why), and were pleased, if a little surprised, to see so many
Internet companies there peddling their wares. So, as is our wont, we went
on a freebie hunt... and we found corporategiftcentre.com (manufacturers of
the kind of branded freebie we were searching for, in fact). They were
giving away cigarette lighters. No gimmicks - just your bog standard
lighter. Why mention them? Well, we discovered, they actually used these
lighters in place of normal business cards. We had to ask why - you know
how particular we can be about business cards... "because people are more
likely to keep them than cards," we were told - "even non-smokers". We
found that surprising, but we guess we'll have to take their word for it!
In the US, of course, where smoking is one great big no-no these days,
people wouldn't even TAKE a lighter, no matter keep it...
What promotional giveaways do you use? We'd love to hear
about them - the more unusual the better. Our favourite so
far - RedHerring.com's 'Fishlight' (a torch made to look like
a fish, of course!). Email: editoratmarketingsherpa [dot] co [dot] uk

Audience likely to be middle/senior management in logistics
companies.
* Budget 15 - qty 2000.
*

How about 2000 x 15 Amazon gift certificates (more if you
can negotiate a bulk discount? You could include a Charity to donate them to
for recipients who don't want them or don't have internet access (although
also a good incentive for trying it out). Available in email and hard copy
formats.
For 15 you can order a CD, video, couple of books, etc.
Useful? I'd rather have one of these than some high-tech plastic toy.
