Seems to me that viral marketing works best when you are giving users
something away. don't we all remember that free bottle of wine that some
wine site was giving away a few months ago (great offer-although the site
crashed before most people registered 'red or white')? The latest success
I've seen is Letsbuyit.com's 2 pizzas for �2 extravaganza. They sold more
than 1000 pizzas in a matter of hours yesterday (and there's more there
today.)
As the great Homer Simpson once said- "mmm....pizza"... hard to argue with a
viral like that.
