The AA traffic master scheme available on Cellnet by dialling 1200 tells you

where you are e.g. M40 near Banbury. It's pretty useful and is an example of

'opt in'.  I'm not a criminal either but I do object to abuse of a service

for any purpose including sending me 'useful information' I have not asked

for possibly distracting me while I'm driving.

In brief, opt-in OK, anything else is an intrusion into my privacy.
