Subject: UKNM: MSN -- they're about to get more powerful

Following on from the discussions on this list last week about MSN and their
popularity due to being the default homepage in IE (although interestingly,
no-one seemed bothered that home.netscape.com is now little more than an
advert for AOL's proprietary services), people may be interested to have a
play with "MSN Explorer" (http://preview.msn.com/) -- the new browser MSN
are launching.

Nice little AOL-like friendly user interface -- as I click on the picture of
the rubber ducky (which the software has decided, no doubt through the use
of some fantastical AI, represents me), my PC cheerfully says "Good
morning" -- and the webpages have been redesigned to look a bit sexier.

Features include integration of Hotmail, MSN Messenger (their IM tool),
MSN Calender, MSN MoneyCentral, Windows Media Player, and various other
Microsoft web
properties.

Oh... and you can't change the homepage.

I hear that there's a netpliance-style MSN box on the way soon too.

Resistance is etc.

rOD.
