Three Reasons to Apply for Digital Mission to New York 2010

Digital Mission to New York

Over the last five Digital Mission trips, it's been a privilege to work with some of the UK's leading digital companies. Getting the chance to spend a week away with people who are taking the scary, but exciting, journey of expanding their business into the US is a great way to really understand what makes entrepreneurs tick.

So, it was rather humbling last week, when we announced the third Digital Mission to New York (deadline's Fri, by the way), to see these tweets from Digital Mission alumni @kierondonoghue, @mr_mcd and @stuartbruce...

Thanks guys.

And for lots of other reasons why you should consider applying for the Digital Mission to New York, check out the web page. This year's trip coincides with ad:tech New York and is a great opportunity to turbo-charge expansion into the US.

Drop samatchinwag [dot] com (me a line) or give us a call on +44 (0)20 7183 2923 if you've got any queries, want to attend, interested in sponsoring, or you'll be in New York 1-5th Nov and want to meet up.

This trip is ideal for digital media/ marketing, technology and mobile companies and agencies with an interest in online advertising and publishing who are looking to expand into the US market either directly or through partners.

UK Trade & Investment

The programme of activities will help turbo-charge this effort, with the opportunity to meet a host of key contacts on New York's digital and media scene, all backed with the knowledge and expertise of the UKTI team based in New York.

The Digital Mission has space for up to 25 companies that meet the entry criteria, with applications assessed by UKTI, Chinwag and our independent advisors. The deadline for entries is Friday 1st October, but for this trip, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so the sooner we receive your application form, the sooner your spot can be confirmed.

Full details of the programme, entry criteria and access to the application form is available on the Digital Mission to New York page with the list of activities being frequently updated.

Video: Bootlaw & Digital Mission Summer BBQ

Newspepper Report - Chinwag, Bootlaw & Digital Mission Summer BBQ

The week before last we gathered with the good people of Bootlaw for possibly the last Summer BBQ of the year. Naturally, it poured with rain. In fact next time we organise a BBQ, I'm putting money on rain. To date, we have a 100% hit rate!

Along with over 100 Digital Mission alumni and Bootlawyers, we were joined by Newspepper's Anastasia Emmanuel quizzing the crowd on geo-location and whether they'd rather 'network' with Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg.

Thanks again to the Bootlaw-duo, Barry and Danvers from Winston & Strawn for supporting the event. Don't forget you can sign-up up for Bootlaw events on the spangly new website.

Summer BBQ - 26th August - Discount Tickets Still Available

Burgers on the Grill by Don LaVange

We didn't take much persuading by the folks who'd been on the Digital Missions that a gathering might be in order to mark the end of the Summer.

We've hooked up with the Digital Mission alumni and Bootlaw regulars to gather, mingle, chat and sup a cold beverage. Let's face it, we don't need much of an excuse and it's a great opportunity to meet interesting people doing interesting things.

Tickets cost £15 (+VAT and booking fee), but there's still a few tickets available at the discounted rate (use code: 'dm' to get a 3rd off), but they're being snapped up quickly. At the time of writing there's already 100 people on the list, so make sure you grab your ticket soon.

We're taking over the top two floors of The Driver, in Kings Cross, a chic boozer with the all-important roof terrace and BBQ, just round the corner from King's Cross station (the nice bit).

The Driver - 3rd FloorThe event will run the event across two floors of the venue, the third floor and roof terrace. The BBQ will be sizzling away on the roof terrace, an area towering over the London skyline with comfortable seating and cosy nooks for networking chats.

One floor below the drinks will be flowing in the contemporary loft-style setting where you can relax in this funky lounge bar with original 70’s carnival waltzer chairs and vibrant comfy sofa with drink in hand.

The Driver - 4th FloorOn the menu there will be burgers and sausages a-plenty (and of course, vegetarian alternatives will be provided) with potato and mixed leaf salads for the more healthier of you.  Also included with your ticket will be 2 drinks (your choice of a bottle of beer or wine, or for the non-drinkers, soft drinks).

// Book tickets now

The BBQ is generously supported by the lovely folks at...
