Description

In association with Music Ally, hosting sponsor Deloitte

2011 was a big year for mobile apps; streaming apps, radio apps, discovery apps, ticketing apps, artistapps, remix apps, festival apps, album apps, music magazine apps, lyrics apps. With 44% of US smartphone users claiming to have used at least one music app, that’s an active music apps market of just under 50 million in the US alone. But in such a crowded marketplace, monetising your app or just getting the app noticed are serious challenges. Artist apps in particular have struggled to rise above the more popular games or music service apps like Just Dance 3 Autodance, Shazam and Spotify.

‘Music apps - beyond the hype’ takes an in-depth look at the business realities of producing, marketing and monetising music related apps. The event features an overview of the music apps market, practical advice on how best to market your apps, instructive lessons from a variety of artist apps case studies, and a variety of speakers from across the music apps value chain.

This event is the first evening seminar in a series of events throughout 2012 from The Appside (www.theappside.com). The Appside is a new business intelligence service for the apps business, launched last year by Music Ally. Look out for future Appside events on publishing apps, film & TV apps and games apps later in the year.
